If you visit Bangalore then you will love its parks. One of the parks to visit is Bugle Rock Park known as Bugle Park. The Park is located in Basvangudi in the Southern section of the city and it is marked by huge rock formations. Kempe Gowda II, one of the rulers built a tower on the rock and the area developed thereafter. The Park covers an area of 16 acres and its beautifully sculpted rock pillar entrance leads to picturesque waterfalls and fountains within besides dense trees and an amphitheatre for 300 people. It remains open from 9 AM to 7 PM and it is one of the favorite picnic spots for locals and a must visit place for tourists.
One can travel by bus from Majestic Market, from Shivajinagar or from Yeshvantpur but one of the better ways to reach Bugle Park is to rent a motorcycle in Bangalore and ride around. This gives you freedom of movement and you can also visit nearby places of interest.
Inside the Park
The Park covers 16 acres and if you arrive here on a morning you will find it full of people out for a morning walk. Health freaks can exercise here and those who love fitness find there are facilities here to help them work out. The chief attraction is the Bugle Rock formation supposedly 3000 million years old. It is prehistoric. There is a play area for kids too. Walking under the canopy of trees is a lovely experience or you can just stretch out on the lawn and relax. The Park is not the only place to visit once you have obtained a bike from bike rentals in Bangalore. You can get on your bike obtained from bikes for rent in Bangalore companies and cruise to a nearby restaurant to dine on typical South Indian food.
The Shri Shringeri Shankar Math is just 0.4 km from here. From here you get on your bike and roll on to Basvangudi and park your bike. Explore the Gandhi Bazaar and maybe buy some spices. Return to your bike and ride a distance of 1.2 km to reach Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, another famous garden in the heart of the city with plenty of greenery. Do not spend too much time here tempting as the surroundings are because there is still lots to do. Ride 1 km and you come to the famous Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace in Bangalore KR Market, a historic site worth a visit. Walk under the arches and admire the architecture. From here you get on the bike obtained from bike hire in Bangalore and visit the Visvesvaraya Industrial and technological Museum, 4 Km from the park. It will keep you engaged for an hour or so. There are other attractions such as the Gandhi Bazar, Iskcon temple, KR market and Cubbon Park that you can visit with ease since you have a bike under you to take you where you wish to go, whenever you like.
