The Church of the three kings
The Church of the three kings in Casaualim Village is one of the scariest places to visit in Goa. The Church is named originally after the three scholar monarchs who went to visit Jesus in Bethlehem. However, the haunted legacy of the church comes from the three Portuguese kings who ruled the lands for many years together till one of them poisoned the other two in a frenzy of power lust. The murderer king was immediately racked by guilt and he swallowed poison. The bodies of all the three kings are buried under the soil of the church and per popular myths their spirits wander all around the church and the village.
The Church of Our Lady of Snows stands on a deserted stretch of road in Raia. Igorchem Bandh is a haunted piece of road right behind this church. This place is supposedly so haunted that ghost spotting has been reported in broad daylight. There are also terrible stories of possessions and it is said that one who wanders along this road between 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. is likely to be possessed by a ghost. Biking around the Igorchem Bandh is a great way to go and test how brave you really are. Just make sure that you hire a good bike from ziphop.in and have an equally brave friend for company.
One of the few places in Goa that is haunted enough to have its name re-christened as “Ghost Hotel”. Severe legal repercussions forced the untimely abandonment of the construction project of this hotel. There are many empty spaces in the hotel which are filled with an eerie spooky feeling and the jungle all around adds to the mystique.
